Acqua Alta

The Venezianer is an illustrated collective project that celebrates Venice and a tribute to The New Yorker covers.

For my cover I chose to depict Acqua Alta (”High Water”), the tide peak that occurs periodically in the lagoon, and during which is easy to spot tourists carrying suitcases over their head, people walking on gangways, but also citizens living their normal lives wearing tall fishing boots and colorful ponchos.
